Revelle Bridal on Richmond

Revelle on Richmond: New Home, New Adventure

NEW HOME, NEW ADVENTURE

After months of preparation and planning and pouring over Pinterest Inspo, this is it: Opening Weekend.

For months, Earleen knew Revelle needed a bigger home. Even with COVID leaving the boutique closed for months over the past year and half, we had our biggest year yet with a record number of new #RevelleBrides joining our family. Most weekends we were fully-booked, with brides on our waitlist. We knew that with the right space we could help even more babes find their gown, but... it had to be the right space.

We wanted to stay in or near the neighbourhood we called home. We wanted to ensure our space was open, but that our Bridal Suites were private. We wanted Light & Bright, but not clinical. We wanted a space that represented the effortlessly cool brides that walked through our doors. We (Earleen) wanted arches.

Richmond Road and the work of Otto & Sons and Morris & James delivered.

Shortly before the April lockdown started the new lease was signed and work began on turning the empty shell into our new home.

FRAMEWORK

The next step was building the fitting rooms and creating the all-important arches in the space. The first time the space felt completely real was the moment we walked through the door to see the framework of Revelle on Richmond in place.

Next, framework became real walls and the arches were finished and piece by piece Revelle started looking more and more like a bridal store.

Walls were plastered and painted and shelving and lights went in. The Yes moment for us was the 30ft of racks being installed, doubling the rack space that we had at Wellington.

FINAL WEEK, FINAL TOUCHES

Which brings us to this week: a hectic rush of packing up Wellington and finishing the last brushes of paint on Revelle on Richmond.

Our suppliers, our family, and our friends have worked tirelessly to get everything finished in time for the Brides booked in for this weekend and we are so thankful for the effort of everyone involved.
Katherine from Pollen Nation, who did our previous floral installations in June and October of last year in our Wellington location, came to start work on incredible dried florals to fill our space with even more beauty.

Yeah, we know, she’s insanely talented and we’re OBSESSED.

There's been some laughter and a few tears in the process of creating the space of our dreams this past few months, but the comments and messages from our Brides (Past, Present, and Future!) have made it a lot easier to cope with some of the setbacks we faced during the process.

The truth is there’s no feeling like walking into 285 Richmond and seeing our forever home, and we can’t wait to share it with you all.
