YOUR DRESS JOURNEY TIMELINE GUIDE

SUMMER 2025 BRIDES: 

Summer has just begun and we are calling all our Summer 2025 brides as it is time to start your dress journey and although this is one of the most magical times of a bride’s life, it can also be one of the most stressful times. We constantly get questions and brides asking for guidance during their journey on topics such as timing, research, and budgets. We put together a quick read on how exactly to bring back the magic in bridal gown shopping, keep it stress free and do it on time!

12-14 MONTHS TO GO

This is the timeframe where you will want to start your wedding planning, start to decide the venue, set your wedding date, choose all your vendors. This is also the time to set your gown budget, do your research on what your style may be, do your research on where you want to shop & where the designers you want to try on are and decide who you want to join you along this journey. We always recommend choosing your closest friends and family who are there to support you! 

10-12 MONTHS TO GO

This is arguably the most exciting part of the journey, and this is the time to start trying on dresses and narrowing down your options to say YES to the dress and celebrate with your loved ones! We always recommend saying YES earlier rather than later as our special order dresses take up to 6-8 months for production and shipping. 

4-5 MONTHS TO GO

There is quite a big gap between saying yes to your dress and when we think you should start thinking about accessories and your overall look. Although the earlier the better, 5 months out is when we suggest that you will want to plan your hair and makeup for the big day. Pinterest is always the way to go for inspiration to find your look! Keep in mind that you should start thinking about  finding your dream shoes and accessories to complete your dress!

3-4 MONTHS TO GO

Your gown will be arriving for us to welcome you back to Revelle to try on and pick up your special order gown. This part of the journey is so magical because you finally get to really envision yourself in your gown on your big day. We will also help you accessorize your dress with all the things, such as a veil and your jewelry and order the final touches to your look. 

2-3 MONTHS TO GO

It’s alterations time! Make sure to get this booked shortly after saying YES to your gown after picking up your gown so there is enough time before the wedding day. 

1 MONTH TO GO

This is when you get to finally take your gown home for good and start practicing your walk down the aisle in your new shoes and dream gown for the big day! Your day will come up so fast so be sure to take it all in and ENJOY! 

NEED A RUSH?

Not a problem, rush fees vary by designer and their standard timelines so we will always present all the options available to you. When we suggest a rush fee it's a recommendation based on when we feel it's best to receive your dress. However, if you are comfortable getting your dress closer to your wedding day it's your choice not to pay for the rush. We are fully transparent with our fees and timelines and are there to help you make the best possible decisions.

If you are eloping or even deciding to move up your wedding date, but don’t want to pay rush fees, we have our off the rack sample gowns as an option!
