2022 Wedding Trend Predictions
Although we may have missed “normal” for a little while, we think it is really fun to look at the changes that have taken place over the last year and how these new norms will carry into the years to come.
We asked each member of the Revelle team to give their predictions for 2022 wedding trends and we thought it would be fun to publish our predictions on this blog as proof to look back at. If you are stuck trying to plan your wedding for 2022, take a look at some of these ideas based on changes due to the pandemic. You might just find the perfect inspiration for your unique 2022 wedding.
BACKYARD STYLE WEDDING
PREDICTED BY CLAIRE
“It feels kind of obvious to say, but I think the trend is still going to be angled towards smaller, more intimate weddings. I think that the backyard wedding is having its moment, and I think that will continue, and wedding venues like The Armstrong Estate, Stonefields Estate, or Adelina Barn, and the like, will be able to offer the low key vibe that you get with that, with the option to have a bigger capacity if you want.”
MINIMALIST WEDDING DRESSES
PREDICTED BY EARLEEN
“As far as wedding fashion goes, I think brides are going to continue with a minimal, clean, no-fuss wedding day look with fitted, all crepe or matte satin gowns but with one statement piece like statement sleeves or an embellished veil or cape or something that adds to the gown. Bringing the focus to you and your partner rather than the details of the gown.”
DESTINATION WEDDINGS
PREDICTED BY MARISA
“I think couple will start to look into destination weddings. I know everyone has missed travelling and what better reason for people to travel than a wedding?! Destination weddings give couples the opportunity to have a holiday at the same time they tie the knot.”
RECEPTION ACTIVITIES
PREDICTED BY SACHA
“The past year has shown us that the traditional, big party with a sit down meal and dancing does not make a wedding a wedding. It is really the commitment of two people proclaiming their love publicly and that can be done on a smaller scale. Other options like brunch receptions with just a small number of guests or replace dancing with quizzes, wine tasting and other games. I think that with the restrictions, it has allowed couples to think more creatively to find ways to celebrate!”
We love to see how each couple personalizes their wedding day and it seems like the year 2020 has reminded couples to focus on what truly matters to them.
No matter what your wedding vibe is, you will probably want to wear a wedding dress so book an appointment at Revelle Bridal to find your dream wedding gown.
